How Live It Up got 2× more from Claude by onboarding it like a new hire
Live It Up's marketing team, working with Bamboo, built a team brain: the business context Claude agents need to do marketing work reliably. The unlock was onboarding Claude the way they'd onboard any new team member. Deliverables and analysis that took hours now take minutes.
“The work got more efficient and usage went up anyway. The team handed Claude more because more of it came back usable, not because anyone set a target.”
Claude was becoming everyone's assistant and nobody's teammate
Live It Up's marketing team was in Claude Cowork every day. Skills and project instructions were in wide use, but there was no way to tell whether they were getting better. Google Drive was connected for project context, and Claude kept finding and citing the wrong, stale document. The same task, done by two people, came out two different ways.
Claude was learning to be each person's assistant, not the team's. And it had amnesia: every new project and every new session started with someone re-explaining the business and how the work gets done.
Live It Up saw the problem and brought in Bamboo to fix it, with a mission behind it: build an AI-native marketing team, where agents work alongside the marketers and people spend their time on judgment calls instead of busy work.
Onboard Claude like a new hire, then let it learn on the job
Live It Up worked hand-in-hand with Bamboo toward that mission: agents and people working on the same floor, agents completing work reliably on their own, the team directing and reviewing it.
The biggest piece was a team brain: opinionated business and marketing context, written down once, that every Claude agent reads as it works.
Onboard Claude like a new hire
A Google Drive connected as the “brain” had too much noise. You don't onboard a new hire by handing over the whole Drive and saying “figure it out.” You curate the few documents that matter, they read them, you talk through the questions, the contradictions and the sticking points, and you note what's still missing. Live It Up did exactly that with Claude.
Let the brain get smarter on the job
Servings per day: as many as the work needs
The brain started as a seed set — what an agent needs to know about a business like this one — and grew from real work. Say Claude makes a wrong call on email marketing. Bamboo traces it in the run history — what the agent was asked, what it reached for, where it stalled — flags one question to the team about retention metrics, and folds the answer back into the brain. The same mistake isn't made twice.
That's the division of labour. Bamboo's marketing engineers brought the structure and brand-specific marketing judgment; Live It Up's marketers brought the answers and the examples of what good looks like. The software came with the service of building it, not a blank workspace and a login.
“Having a dedicated resource makes sure that we are building it correctly from the start. We only benefit from these agents and skills if they are producing an accurate output and getting smarter, and it's really hard for our team to do that on our own. Bamboo's team is providing skills and expertise to help us do this while we learn to do it on our own.”
What changed in a month
Start with the brain itself. Its context grew steadily through the month — starting small and ending about four times the size: the definitions, the goals, the decisions already made, and the traps in each data source.
That growth is what the team reached for. More than half of Live It Up's Claude sessions (53%) called the team brain — context that was not there to call a month earlier.

2×
Claude work sessions in a month
And the sessions themselves grew 2×. That is the part worth reading closely: the work got more efficient and usage went up anyway. The team handed Claude more because more of it came back usable, not because anyone set a target.
A month earlier, Claude did what it was asked in a session and forgot the business by the next one. Now it produces reliable weekly reports, analysis, and recommendations, on a schedule, with the business context already in place.
Turn recurring work into skills that run on a schedule
Once the knowledge was written down, the recurring work could be too. Each piece of work became a skill: the steps, the inputs, the checks along the way, the output format, and the traps in that particular data. Daily and weekly reports now run on a schedule and land in Slack before the team opens their laptops. Each run is checked against what the team said a good version looks like, so a wrong number gets caught by the system the day it happens — not by the CMO, weeks later.
“Having the brain as the source of truth for definitions, goals, and background information has helped Claude refine recommendations to Live It Up's reality, not just generalist opinions.”
